We require all the following information to be completed to allow consideration of your application.  All of the application must be typed (we cannot accept handwritten and photographed applications) to ensure we do not make mistakes in reproducing your details.

Membership is only open to artists living in the Penzance local area.

1. All your contact details

including email, website, mobile number (to be published on the website and in the catalogue but not on Instagram), Instagram, Facebook, etc - giving accurate details and addresses of each of your accounts.

Please be specific if you wish to be know by an alternative name for your work.

2. In what capacity you are able to help to the Membership Group

Please bear in mind that all work is done on a voluntary basis (none of the Committee Members are paid for their efforts either) and without everyone’s commitment we cannot achieve all the elements of Membership:  the handsome catalogue, professional website and at least two Exhibitions a year.   For instance, can you help with our website, the mailing lists, setting up exhibitions etc. It should be noted that we expect you to connect to the WhatsApp Group which is the coordinating mechanism for shows , meetings etc.

3. A brief description of your practice

A short description (maximum 50 words) for the catalogue.   Please note the Committee cannot be responsible for editing a longer description - the statement is copied and pasted into our catalogue and website as print ready.

We will accept a further longer description, if you wish, to add to your artist page on the website.

4. 1 black and white image of yourself

which will reproduce clearly in a small format, to be used on your catalogue  page and online.  )Please use the same image specifications and destinations are detailed below)

5. 6 images of your recent work

these images are the ones we will use in this year’s publications.

Please note the images must be of profession standard to enable our Committee members to work with them:

Please send the images together with the application to penzancestudios@gmail.com

Please also send just the images to Julia Bearcroft, our Picture Editor at juliabearcroft@icloud.com

Please send your images with the following specifications:

- If you are using a phone to generate the image, send as a JPEG of ACTUAL SIZE.

This will usually generate an image of 72dpi which we can work with.

- If you are using an iPhone, your camera setting should be ‘most compatible’ (NOT ‘high efficiency’) - this is found in ‘format’ within the camera settings.

- Please only send as a JPEG.  Do not use ‘we transfer’ or ‘drop box’ or any other

file sharing system.

- You may need to send a couple of emails to accommodate the image sizes (if

possible keep the number of emails to a minimum, ie not an email per image, as it is easier for us to keep track of the work!)

- Please note, no titles of your images will appear in the catalogue or on the website.

We very much look forward to receiving your application.  We consider the work during November and endeavour to let you know whether or not you have been successful by the end of the month.  If you have been accepted as a Member, your membership fee £130 becomes due then.  We will contact everyone.
