DOMINIQUE FUGLISTALLER
Dominique is a ceramicist inspired by mass produced and discarded plastic.
Working from plaster moulds she casts or press moulds pieces in clay, then alters, decorates, develops them into something new.
Sometimes they have a story to tell, sometimes they are just happy to have a life in clay.

Working from her studio in Penzance, Dominique creates ceramic works that explore our complex relationship with plastics—their use, misuse, and enduring presence in the environment. Functional ware sits alongside a series of fishing buoys inspired both by studies of marine debris and by the imagery of medieval maps. The inclusion of sea monsters from these early charts speak to our unease with the unknown depths of our environmental impact.
